Hi all - yes, it is a bite or a scratch that has gone mankey - the fur grew over what was obviously a small wound and an infection set in. Fifi is prone to scabs but these have never caused anything but a mild annoyance. I have some strong antibiotics for her to take for a week. The vet said there is still some pus in the centre of the wound, and it needs to stay open to help it heal - it's about the size of a 2p peice on her delicate little paw She also said that there may be a risk of it being prone to mutate into tumour so if it's not well on the way to healing in 3-4 days or if it gets worse I'm to go back right away and they'll remove the whole infected area. |
