I got a call from a local vets on friday to ask if we had any spaces to take 2 kittens that had been found on a park, I paused before asking how old they were..... the answer was a few days...
DAYS!
of course we'll take them I said & promtly found a fosterer willing to hand rear them.
When she collected them they still had their umbilical cords attached so were obviously very young.
There was a girl and a boy. Unfortunately the girl has passed away, but the boy is doing well.
I really believe that colostrum is vital for any animal {I have seen pups that have had NONE and they are sickly little things throughout their first weeks} We now strip colostrum from certain bitches and freeze it incase we need it. (Wonder if you can do that with cats.... must consult the experts and find out).........anyway, these little mites were cold when found so it's a slippery slope from the begining.
I have not seen the kitten/s so have no photos to post.
