Thanks everybody, we will be having concrete posts and 6 inch concrete gravel boards. I am hoping to put some nice deep borders in the garden to make it look a bit more interesting. At the moment these fencing panels are half price at Homebase (they were £49 now £25 which I think is quite good) we just need to measure the garden tomorrow and work out how many we need (we think 30 to do both sides of the garden) |

We would normally put some sort of preserver on them, (I would even paint them a nice colour, but the OH isn't very keen) but we are thinking of leaving them just plain and see how they go. |

I think they'll end up going a grey colour if left untreated. Which isn't a problem as it kind of blends into the garden rather than standing out as a 'colour' per se. Mine are dark green but I actually wish now I hadn't painted them |
