It is with aheavy heart and lots of tears that Robin and are announce the loss of our Darling Bertie
Bertie went to the Bridge at 12 noon with his Daddy in attendance as I was in Ireland. He went peacefully and for that I am greatful and so is Robin.
Bertie was our first attempt at Golden oldie fostering with his sidekick Moose (He left us on 18 January 2005 with liver and heart issues) they came on 17 December 2000 having been 11 and 7 months in a CP shelter as both had medical issues and were oldies then, Robin had the day off on 18 December 2000 and both got full boosters and ID chips and were one of my best Christmas presents in our time together.
For the first 11 months of his time with su Bert lived on top of the wardrobes in our bedroom with food on oneside and litter tray on the other and used to come down at about 4 am to see us and then decided we weren't going to throw him out or leave him became an active Clan member Moose and he were numbers 10 and 11 and lived life to the full, he did over his time woth us develop arthritus, a blood disorder - he didn't clot well and he had no teeeth and went blind at 18 but all these aside he lived life to the full had his own routine and was a Daddy's boy.
He loved his first summer here at Fetternear and went on his daily patrol up to this weekend just gone, he managed to be caught in a trap - he loved food even though he wasn't part of the great escape.
He is sadly missed and and Robin told me with heavy heart he felt he couldn't just leave me a voice mail, but I had reservations about my trip and said goodbye yesterday to my darling boy, our Clan is missing a leader and now the girls are in charge in the age stakes.
We all love and miss you, the clan is quieter for you being gone so now run free with your Bridge brothers - Toerag, Haggis, Moose and Breeze the BC and look out for her hissyness Miss Holly.
Bert of Ardoch and Fetternear age 21 years and 5 months
