My niece!

You'll remember me telling you the tales of my niece who has been getting into so much trouble lately! Well, she has been attacked by some of the girls in the childrens home where she has been living for the last 2 months. From what my SIL says, she has bruises all over her, the ones on her arms are actually in the shape of the soles of the trainers the attackers were wearing. The other girls filmed it on their mobile phones , and it shows her having her head banged off of a brick wall, a bottle being used to club her head and the ring leader jumping on top of her head. She has bruising inside her ears and all over her face!! The oldest attacker who apparently initiated it, has gone on the run, she's 16, and when the police catch her they are charging her with attempted murder . The whole family is in complete shock, and my SIL is heading for a nervous breakdown.

Re: My niece!

My niece is VERY shaken, sore and bruised, and considering all the problems she is having, it's absolutely the worst thing that could have happened. Especially when there had been some progress made with her lately, and she was being taken for a proper psychiatric evaluation to see if she is bi-polar! She had to attend the hospital and has had an xray done of her skull to make sure there were no fractures. The police photographer has taken pictures of all of her injuries as evidence, when she returned to the home today from the hospital, she was threatened by some of the other girls, trying to make her withdraw her statements, they also trashed her room and destroyed her belongings (makes you wonder where the staff were, doesn't it?), so she has been removed to the safety of her grandparents house for the next 2 days until after a very big meeting tomorrow with all of the relevant agencies to see where to go next!

Poor love she must be so frightened I really hope that justice will be done when they catch up with the ring leader and that the meeting tomorrow leads to a satisfactory outcome for all x

Re: My niece!

What a tragedy! That poor girl; imagine sending her back where she'd been attacked,,,don't those authorities have any common sense? I'm glad she's safe for a few days at least; this is ridiculous...seems the girls can be worse hooligans than the lads these days!

Re: My niece!

That was the opinion of us too Eileen! We just couldn't understand the logic of taking her back to the home, and apparently when she was taken back, they told her to go into her room and lock the door so the other girls couldn't get to her while they were sorting things out!!!!!WHAT??? This is a 13 year old girl who has been severly attacked and should be closely watched for the next 24 hours for concussion, and they tell her to lock her door!! It beggars belief. From the update I've just had, they are now also charging the girl who was hitting her over the head with the bottle, but the others are still in the home for the time being. Still no sign of the instigator, but apparently some of the other girls know where she is but aren't telling, so the police will be watching them when they go out to see if they are taking her food etc!
