That was a really nice birthday bash for them, food and fun! They're all the same litter: albinos and normal coloring? Sorry if that's a dumb question, don't know much about tame rats/. |

no, not a dumb question at all  they're all from the same litter apart from the black ones, they are two months older. rats have different breeds aswell, like siamese, etc in cats. these guys are called husky or roan(same thing). roans coats fade, so when they were born their coats were a lot darker, see the pic with the two black striped babies? well one of them is bruce! his coat is grey now. the white/albino looking ones are really faded roans. 2 of the girls have pink eyes- originally a creamy coat, 2 ruby- coffee-ish coat and 2 black. usually the lighter the coat, the lighter the eyes. the total black ones are called berkshires, the trade mark are their white tummy's and white paws |

Aww that looks like so much fun. Very interesting about how their coats fade. I had one that looked like bob but he wasn't as well built - he was blind and looked quite puny all his life. I miss having rats. Especially tempted recently as I have found someone who sells agility equipment that is rat size! If only I didn't work full time! |

aaww wee blind one, pink eyes cant see very well at all, my 2 girls sway a lot. i work full time  . ideally i like them to have an hour out of the cage daily, sometimes its only 45 mins though. it is more awkward having the 2 sexes though. i used to just let them out on the couch beside me at night, they would sometimes get an hour and a half each, but thats because mondo(my old cat) didnt bother with them. now, pip on the other hand, no way! so i go up to the bedroom to let them out. i couldnt live without my ratties, it is heartbraking that they only live such short lives and i get very upset when something happens, but i like to think that i gave them great homes and can do the same for more. i say go for it  thankyou to everyone for being interested in my ratties, not a lot of people i personally know understand me  |
