Hubby said to heat up a needle and stick it in the black bit to let the blood out... My nail is black and the base of the nail is swollen... Yep, I did swear, not something I do often, but the air was blue here!!! |

sounds really painful. I believe the needle thing is an old wives tale. You have a vleed behind the nail and may or may not loose it but it won't make any difference if you do the needle thing. Ice will take the swelling out from under the nail |

I knew it coz there was a terrible rumble here in the city, I thought we had thunder, now i realise it was you I wouldnt do any of those things. The nail will probably detach itself and come off naturally. Bloody painful all the same. |

Poor you! I know the feeling, I went to put some boxes in the store room at work yesterday, it's out in a shed/outbuilding, which for some reason has a metal post sticking about 1ft from the ground-it was quite dark in there and I walked straight into it, taking off the skin from my shin. I swore and fell over the boxes I'd dropped, and did the same to the other leg! Got some matching, whopping bruises on both shins today, I'm quite accident prone though. |
