Jake is a 5 year old seal colourpointed Ragdoll, who is looking for a very special new home. He is neutered, vaccinated and microchipped.
Jake's owner feel she needs to rehome him, for his own health, safety and happiness, due to problems she is having with people who do not like cats, in the neighbourhood. Jake and his family moved recently. In his previous home, Jake had outside access and he used to visit the neighbours. Some loved him, encourgaed him into their home and fed him. Others did not like him and about two years ago, Jake received injuries, believed to have been inflicted by someone kicking him. Since Jake has been less tolerant of cuddles and strokes and although a friendly ragdoll, who enjoys affection, he tires of a fuss and will show his owner this by using teeth or claws. Jake's family have only moved a few minutes walk from their old home. Jake was being kept in, but he was becoming so unhappy at being confined, that he was let out. Naturally, Jake made his way back to his old neighbourhood and is making himself unpopular with the people there, as he is sitting crying at their doors, expecting to be let in and fed, as he was in the old days. His owner is now receiving complaints. The new next door neighbour dislikes cats and has nailed carpet gripping rods along the top of the fence. A few weeks ago Jake was extremely unwell, following suspected poisoning with a caustic substance, which caused severe burns and ulceration in and around his mouth. He is now fully recovered from this and just has short hair around his face, where it was shaved while he was unwell.
Jake's owner has very real concerns for his safety if he is allowed out and keeping him in is making him very unhappy, so she feels finding him a safe, new home would be best for him.
Jake needs a pet free, child free home with a family who have commitment and understanding to help him over come the emotional scars he has been left with following his mistreatment by cat haters in his neighbour hood. He is a loving Ragdoll, but his trust in people has been damaged, so he is now less tolerant of too much fuss and accepts affection on his terms. With time and understanding, in a safe environment, there is no reason that Jake will not find his original laid back temperament. He needs safe outdoor access, to a cat friendly, secure garden, well away from busy roads. Jake needs a family who will not elave him for long hours during the day.
