action pics of Tuppence !well nearly action pics  As most of you will know since coming to live with us Tup is very reluctant to go out. The weather was quite nice today so i encouraged her out, it was good whilst it lasted which was approximately 5 mins  Thought i'd take a few pics of the occasion The Laurel bush obviously smelled realy interesting as she spent most of her time here. She was sniffing so loud i could hear her from across the garden    In this one she has her mouth slightly open to taste as well  back in again,lol  one last sniff  trying out the catnip, check out the ears   think i've had enough of the great outdoors  let me in !

What a wise girl you are Tuppence, outdoors is overrated, stay inside and let your human spoil you! I love it when they do that open mouthed smell/taste thing (I'm sure it has a name) the expression on their faces always makes me laugh. |

It's called the Flehmen Reaction TM - when a cat draws air over her vomeronasal organ or Jacobson's organ in the roof of the mouth. They can taste the smell! Very clever, cats! I could post links but suspect they'd be censored. Just Google "Flehming" or "Flehmen Reaction" for more info. |
