A couple of sad losses.

On Saturday we lost wee Murray mouse, I found him curled up in his bed. It was not really a shock as he was about 18 months and had a tumour ( he was on pain relief ). Funnily for such a wee animal he had a big impact on us and it was a genuine loss.
Today we lost Elsie, one of our original sheep, she was 15 and we had her for 9 years. A week past Wednesday we found her unable to stand in the field, we got her into a stable and started her on metacam ( she was quite arthritic). She did appear to be getting stronger and was bright and eating last night. I now wonder if it was her heart- the vet didn't mention hearing any problems, but it looked like Elsie had passed away quietly and I can only guess it was her heart. She was a bit of a favourite and always MADD me think of a lion as she had a huge head.
They will both be missed.

So sorry to hear of your loss of dear wee Murray and Elsie, sweet angels. Losing one is bad enough, but two..I really feel for you.

It sounds like you gave them a wonderful life though, and the fact that they went peacefully and pain free at the end is somewhat comforting. It's always incredibly sad when someone who's so close to our hearts and who has shared our life, however long or short passes over. I do feel for you farthing.. but they had a good sensitive mum, and you gave them a life that could have been so very different. x
