lovely funny girl need fantastic home [Huddersfield]Dear All I can make this into really long story but I'll keep it short, our little funny cat, a girl, needs a new but fantastic new home. We have had an incident with our dogs and the cat a few weeks ago - which was dreadful - we try so hard to keep everybody apart but it went wrong! We just cannot take the risk again! We would like her to be safe, with no dogs to scare her anymore. We found her as a kitten in our barn 3 years ago, she was born without a tail and just has cute stub that wiggles. She is black and white and the most gorgeous little built cat EVER. She does have quite spectacular hind legs and is extremely muscly. She is pretty much nocturnal, outdoor cat, and sleeps/hangs about most of the day. I know it a big ask for anybody to take on a new cat but please consider her! We love her dearly and even though we have build cat flaps absolutely everywhere we just don't want to run the risk of something more serious happening. We have also tried to get them used to each other but it's just not working. We would like her to have a home with lots of cuddles, outdoor space, some mice that need catching etc.. She is microchipped, spayed and 6weeks ago had her boosters, has been flue treated and will come with loads of food, a tent, basket and all the stuff you need. She has also lived with another cat before. Please get in touch if you need more info: iNeedANewHome@rfcnm.co.uk

Have the dogs went for the cat? Im just curious that you have had her 3 years & now feel you have to part with her. There are a few of us on here with dogs & cats. We have large dogs. |

yes as per the orginal post, we have had an incident,. We have had a new dog addition 9months a go and have been trying ever since, so do not feel we have taken this situation lightly I have had cats & dogs all my life and feel like I have failed. But wether dogs and cats can live together also VERY MUCH depends on the characters involved. Our old cat was fine, however she isn't, and I am not willing to have her put at risk! |

I hesitate to say this & please dont take it the wrong way but would it not be better to re-home the dog as you have had the cat much longer? |

the cat will be more easy to rehome as the dog has some issues - and no I am not taking this the wrong way. but like I said before I am not doing this lightly and am under no illusions when it come to rehome/rescue. So hence I am trying it this way! |

I'd take her in a heartbeat but can't for various reasons. Have you considered trying a rescue? I can't guarantee they will have a space but it's something to think about. My personal belief is the last one in should be the first one out. I have known a case in rescue similar to the one you describe - cat attacked by family dog, the cat was given up because of it, the cat (big black male) took over a year to find a new home. That's the reason why personally I would give the dog up (last one in first one out) |
