Ffffreezing Friday!

It is too! OH has just gone to try and move the car (dig it out more like), as he and a couple of others are going to try to reach the office today. I'm stuck at home with the boys as school is shut but I have a heap of writing to do (subject is dental implants ).

It's also really grey and overcast rather than lovely and sunny like yesterday so all in all not a very welcoming day. I too am fed up with the snow, although I have been able to get around OK on foot with my grippy snow boots and trusty shopping trolley

Re: Ffffreezing Friday!

Starting to run out of biscuits! The electrician certainly loves them so I'll have to pop out later on. We've got a Tesco Express at the local petrol station and a small parade of shops quite nearby so it'll be shopping on foot, the car can stay buried on the drive! I'll not be going to Waitrose in town for some time.

I think it's going to be a little warmer than yesterday when it reached -0.5C, today we might get above freezing!

Re: Ffffreezing Friday!

Bitterly cold here too. But sunshine and blue skies, so it does at least look pretty lol. Hopefully it's 3rd time lucky with the tv delivery today. Robert had his tooth out yesterday at the dentist, and there was a huge abcess behind it which burst! So the dentist had to make sure it was well cleaned out, cue his face looking as if he was battered with a baseball bat today!

Hope everyone keeps warm, and safe x

Re: Ffffreezing Friday!

Morning all! -2 here atm, but blue sky and quite warm in the sun. Our grocery delivery was cancelled by the store, so we have to rely on our freezer and store cupboards, which are full enough to keep us going at least over the weekend. We are baking some more bread and will have to use milk powder which isn't too bad if made up first. We aren't big milk drinkers. The only thing I am a bit upset about is that the order I put in for bird food at the end of December hasn't arrived and now the suet I ordered from the store which I make up into bird cake with peanut flour won't come either. Just hung up the penultimate cake.

One of the ladies I do transcription work for lives near Petersfield and has been without any electricity for near on 48 hours. She phoned this morning to say they now are back on - so I need to get her work back to her pdq as it needs to be filed on Monday.

We've got some lovely icicles by the front door. OH has taken some photos - I'll post if they are OK.

Keep safe and warm everyone. It was good to hear from calismum last evening. She and her family are in my thoughts today - lucky she has a good neighbour. I'll be back later.

Sorry meant to say - glad to see a post from Janey and sorry to hear you've been poorly. Hope your earache goes away soon - often happens after a cold, but is nasty. I sympathise.

MrsH - you could try giving your electrician some of your home made dog biscuits? Just add a bit of honey!

Brain like a sieve this morning - Alex glad that bad tooth is out - poor Robert. And hope that Yola's OH can get the car dug out. Kazz - take care out there. Watch out for those snowmen. We had some lovely pictures of local snowmen and other snow sculptures on the local news last night. Some were brilliant.

No luck getting the car out . . . just having a bowl of soup and going to try again with the doormats and some old coir carpet for traction

Re: Ffffreezing Friday!

Afternoon all. Bitterly cold here, the sun has been shinning brightly but with no warmth to it. Very very icy here, lots of black ice on the roads so it's taking ages to get anywhere. Although there are the nutters who just drive like it's normal weather conditions
Am off to parrotland house sitting this weekend, taking Rayne with me and hoping we dont get snowed in there.
Stay warm and stay safe everyone and lets pray for the big thaw to hurry up.
