Exciting News (I dont get out much lol)

Am very excited and must tell you all!!

Sean and Emma are due to go to Austria skiing with the school in February... I will be completely alone for the first time ever for a week

I know I am gonna be thinking of the kids 24/7 and worrying like crazy that they are gonna ski off the side of a mountain so I am planning something for me to look forward to..

Me and a friend are taking the day off work and travelling to London for the day. We are not sure what we are gonna do yet except we are booked to see DIRTY DANCING at the Adelphi Theatre

We are thinking of either going to London Zoo, the Aquarium or Natural History Museum in the morning, and then lunching, something else in the afternoon before the show....

I am hoping to get in lots of sightseeing too (used to work in London when I was younger and not been for years so might actually appreciate it all now). Will take my new camera too

Sean went last year with the school... he is a snowboarder rather than a skier, and Emma wants to snowboard too. This will be her first time..

Think the London Eye is shut the day I go, but sure there will be lots of other stuff to do!

How about Tower London (see Crown Jewels), Buckingham palace, a tour of London on a Red London bus, The Tate Modern which is free The British Museum (Elgin Marbles,Rosetta Stone, Easter Island Statue) Natural History Museum (Dinosaurs, and the real size blue whale) Houses Parliament (if you go The Houses of Parliament is only a short walk down Whitehall from Trafalgar square to Parliament Square. The building is stunning from Parliament Square, but it is worth taking a walk over Westminster Bridge and getting the view from the South Bank. And if you want to know more about London's history then go to the Museum of London (see the Lords mayors coach)

See I have been doing research I am off there myself in Feb...for maybe a weekend. But at least a full day...and a show.

Don't miss the V&A!!! Used to be my favourite place to go. Don't go to London now as I hate the crowds.

Wonderful! I'm so glad you're finally finding time to do things just for you.

A word of advice; don't go to the Zoo, we took the boys there about 15 months ago and it was dire. I remember it as an exciting place from childhood as we went often, but it was a big disappointment even for the little ones.

I'd recommend the London Eye too . . . unless of course you're terrified of heights
