A couple of weeks ago, Lucy (9) came home from school saying she wanted to be in the gymnastics team, so she'd joined the gym club, when we chatted to her. she explained that the whole school had the chance to join the school gym club, where they will learn gymnastics during their lunch break & in some lesson time, over the next 3 weeks in an attempt to get into the gym team. Nice I thought but, thought she'd never get in.
That night she was getting very frustrated because she couldn't do a headstand, she was getting angry & upset, so we sat her down & explianed that the only way to learn is to be patient, practice & repetition.
Well! every single spare minute ever since has been spent practicing.
Out of the whole school only 16 people could get into the team & through her determination to achieve I am so proud to say that she is in the school Gym team.
She can now do a very controlled headstand for more than a minute, & do many more tricks too.
