RIP Woody WoodpidgeonThis morning i picked an injured woodpidgeon up from the middle of the road. After taking advice from a pidgeon rescue we took him to the vets, planning to take him to the rescue afterwards. I was told at reception that it is their policy is to euthanise any wild birds taken in. I made it clear that we were willing to take the bird to a sanctuary. She told me that if the bird saw the vet there would be a charge which we agreed to. However the vet felt that the bird was actualy brain damaged so we felt it would be the right decision to PTS. So fly free little Bird
