RosieI have a part feral cat, Rosie she came in for food but even after 13 years she wouldnt let us handle her. She meowed at us and took food from our hands but was very nervous. Worming and defleaing were a nightmare. But we loved her and in her own way she loved us. We noticed she had lost weight but was still eating, after 3 days finally caught her and took her to the vet. I was thinking throid. The vet checked her and we both realised she was very thin. It turns out she had a tumour on her liver. We had her PTS straight away to save her pain and distress. I know it was the very best for her as treatment for anything would have been difficult. She was such a good girl at the vet and the time was right for her. The vet knows her and couldnt believe how quiet she was. This is the second cat we have had pts due to a tumour in the last few weeks, its heartbreaking RIP Rosie, hope we gave you a good life little girl xxx

I'm so sorry for your loss, Lyn ...  It is such a heartbreaking decision to have to make but it was the kindest thing you could have done for Rosie. She is now free from further pain and suffering.... Sleep tight special girl, no more pain ....... xx |

How sad, Lyn. As others have said, what you did for Rosie was the ultimate act of kindness. At least she has care and kindness from you, even if she wouldn't let you too close. |

How sad Lyn, but you gave Rosie the perfect life and never expected too much from her. I am sure she was very happy. In April we lost our Birman cat, Misty. Like Rosie he had lost loads of weight, but was still eating and he too had a tumour on his liver. He would have been 13 in May. We were very sad to lose him, but know he was lucky to have had a good life. I am sorry for your loss. |
