Thanks everybody, I am so delighted about this and had even more good news today. Misty, who is in CRF, had her urine sent off for a protein/ creatinine ratio to be taken..... and she is still normal too. I am even more happy about this, because her bloods were a good bit worse from the previous sample taken and I was convinced that she would deteriorate more quickly, particulary because she is 20 and half. I am now waiting for Smudge's results to find out how she is fairing. I think I have it in my head that they won't have long because Chokki died 6 months after we had her diagnosed, of course we don't know how long she had been struggling before she came to us, but her bloods were no worse than Spice's at diagnosis. The vets did not do the urine test at that time, but she was given a renal diet and fortekor as soon as we found out she was ill. I must ask the vet why they don't put the cats onto fortekor until the protien/ creatinine ratio is above 0.5 ( i think), I wonder if it doesn't help until this stage? Anybody Know? |
