Liu Xiaobo just won the Nobel Peace Prize, but can't accept it from his jail cell. He was sentenced to 11 years in prison for writing a document calling for the protection of human rights and democracy. He has been fighting for a more open, free and democratic China for more than 20 years, but now he is imprisoned illegally and illegitimately. The Nobel Peace Prize is a great acknowledgement of the important work that Liu Xiaobo has done for his people. Now China knows that the world is watching.
