Re: Thursday thread

Hi everybody,

The sun is shinning here as well but there is a cool wind a blowing so the temp is quite low at the moment, hopefully the wind will drop and it will warm up .

I am so pleased for my son Craig as yesterday he passed his "Driving Theory Test" it was his first attempt so I am so happy for him after all the revision he did for it, it`s alot harder now than when I had to do mine .

Not uptp much today as I have to wait in for foldable pet carrier to be delivered and it should be arriving today.

Hope everybody has a nice day Pauline, Maxi& Maisy Moo Xxx.

Re: Thursday thread

Had a lie in this morning as I'm on night shift tonight. It's a lovely day here but the wind is cold. Posh is being a little s*d today, she's moaning to go out all the time and I've been out the front with her on her harness but oh no, not enough. She's crying all the time and its very wearing. She's eaten and pooed as normal, so there's nothing wrong with her. Do you think she's got some hormone thing going on despite being spayed??

She scrammed Bronnie's legs too with claws out today so she wasn't just playing. Don't know what's got into her.

Re: Thursday thread

Bet it's that cold wind PP - cats don't like the wind at all! Poor Bronnie.

Cold and windy and mizzling rain here. I took Kizzy for her second jab this morning. She was much more reluctant to be put in the cat carrier, but was good at the vet and then had diarrhoea when we were almost home. I am going to try those Feliway drops - she gets stressed but does not act like a stressed cat. She seems fine now and has eaten. The vet recommends Hill Science diet and said that the better dry foods have all been improved so to support renal health. He said the only time he would not recommend feeding dry is if the cat has had cystitis. I'm not sure what to do now, she seems happy on her Felix and her digestive comfort dry. Her "smelly problems" have greatly improved as she has become more settled.

OH and I have bought a new hose reel, one of those wall mounted ones, and went out to hang it, but it is so chilly, we've come back in. Ah well, I can get on with the blasted Income Tax!

Have a good day everyone.

Re: Thursday thread

Hello and apologies for late arrival; I've been at Mums. She's still a bit stiff and sore after her fall a few weeks back - we just don't heal as well/quickly as we age.
I have no news - the weather is just 'neutral' - bit grey, bit breezy, warm enough etc.

Re: Thursday thread

Coming towards the end of the day here at the office and it's starting to rain. I'm leaving a little later today as Dominik is doing Art Club after school (he loved it last week) and it doesn't finish until 5.

Hopefully we'll have a calm evening - the last 2 nights have been fraught with argument and badly-behaved boys

Just heard the car is an absolute write off as the whole underside has been pushed across not just the external panels. Thank heaven Ken didn't even get whiplash or anything. He's SO furious at the careless woman that hit him. He saw her driving in town the other day; yammering to her child and not even indicating when she turned across some traffic. Looks like no lessons learnt there . . .

Re: Thursday thread

Hi, all. We had a dreadful thunderstorm last night, lightning and thunder and the pesky roof leak was baaaaack!!! The roofer has been working on it, apparently something is complicated; every time we think it's fixed it will start up again; although it has been at least six months since it was last "fixed" By coincidence he was working down the street when I went out to pick up the papers so I didn't need to e-mail him; he'll look at it again when he's finished the other job. So I had a very poor night's sleep between putting out a bucket and newspapers and then unable to sleep due to the violence of the storm, Which didn't faze Leia at all! I decided to sleep in this morning, so no errands, etc. Still overcast but not as chilly ...20C now.

Yola, sorry to hear about Ken's car. What an idiot that woman is! PP, think the wind diagnosis may be right; it does bother them. Leesy, congrats to Craig! Angie, sympathy, I too hate doing income taxes!!

Enjoy the day.

Re: Thursday thread

Looks like it was a bit of a 'wind' problem, she's lot calmer now, doing her usual grooming and stuff. I don't know if she could hear the wind blowing through the house and her ears being more sensitive than ours, that sparked it off, She is very vocal and cries to be cuddled and for food etc.

I hadn't noticed the problem before, will assess the weather next time.

Re: Thursday thread

Hiya all

DM Glad your Mom is okay falling is a thing to get over as we get older...an update on my "oldie" Mom has been to the hospita today to see her ortho surgeon
A Mom has not fractured her shoulder, it was just a bone moving, due to the following.
B The list of physio excercise they gave her following the operation are rubbish and not to be attempted till 8 weeks post surgery not 8 days...
C. The sling she was given by the hospital is useless she is not to wear it.
D. The info given on ice packs ie do not use them is useless she is to use them every two hours or so during the day.

Great eh???????

Angie I would leave her be on what she's on now if she is coming on fine "less smelly" let her settle...I mean she may have really good reason to get stressed even if she is not a stressy cat....certain situations may put her at "scared mode" which may well go away with time...although a I think I told you Oscar when a kitten had broken ribs, semi healed broken ribs, fresh and healed cigarette burns on his body his whiskers pulled out as a kitten before he wa 8 weeks old and even as a cat of 20+ and 20+ years of loving care he would hide from anyone who smelled of cigarettes.....fear is a good reason for stress/panic.

Leesy; Well done to Craig first steps to freedom

Yola; thats a shame what will hubby get next?

Everyone else Hello...I have been to work back now and its a lovely day. Finger still in the air and will be bruising shortly I think.

Have a good day all. Karen

Re: Thursday thread

Hi all!
Haven't been online much recently as work/life seems to have been so hectic but only four days until holiday
I spent this afternoon trying to sort out the last little bits before we go-have to work on Saturday and promised to do a 6 mile sponsored moonlit walk overnight on Saturday (dressed as a cow!)
Just worrying about putting Imogen in the cattery, rationally I know she'll be fine, the cattery is a great place and the owner is a lovely lady but I still feel horribly guilty
