Rainy Sunday

Morning ~ I was due to go cycling at 8am with my friend, although we have postponed until later due to the rain. I have pulled both my calf muscles quite badly and am in a bit of discomfort with them, but still going to try a gentle bike ride later if the rain stops.

not much else going on here today, shopping & housework & all the other boring weekend stuff has all been done.

that's about it. Have a good day everyone.

Morning all
Dylan's been sick again so I'll have to phone the vet tomorrow, won't be doing much more today than looking adter Dylan which means I won't be able to go to the rescue, don't want to pass anything on to the rescues

Re: Rainy Sunday

Goodness, it's a real shocker of a day here today, persistent driving rain with a strengthening wind behind it The lawn is now covered in leaves, hardly any had fallen before today, all the dahlias are being bent over, the bamboo looks as though it's having a dizzy turn and there are some empty plastic pots rolling around. Next door were having their flat-roof garage re-roofed this last week, they must be so relieved that they got it finished!

I've got a nice bit of lamb roasting for lunch but right now it's coffee time with Classic FM on the radio, the dog behind me on the sofa, one cat upstairs in a basket and the other one out in the garden sheltering under a conifer.

Hope your weather's better wherever you are today.

Re: Rainy Sunday

Well I have shot out inbetween downpours..with Sal...now back in just had brekkie scrambled eggs and bacon with fried fresh tomato...yummy. Cup of black coffee too.

Now in may do some CP stuff later depends...off to my sisters to drop some software off for Sophie..there computer died and now is needing redoing with everything.

May do up a few baskets/tubs in the shed later, if the weather gets slightly better.

Nothing much planned really. Raost pork for dinner which due to brekkie will be late about 5 I think.

Have a good day all

Ouch for the poorly legs Smudgley.

Lamb sounds lovely as does your day MrsH

RCR ...Sorry Dylans poorly.

Moli...through the night is good. Big step forward.

Sorry you're a bit under the weather Janey, have a brekkie does wonders for you,

Re: Rainy Sunday

Its thoroughly miserable and has been pouring of rain most of the morning - bit windy and the black clouds are scudding across the sky. I have a call to make on one of my elderly s I keep my eye on and then back home to sort my latest Avon delivery out (six boxes instead of the usual three, can tell xmas is on its way). Looking forward to sitting down later to catch my x factor results though I expect that will involve me yelling at the tele quite a lot !And having a glass or three of wine. Happy Sunday everyone ! Jan x

Re: Rainy Sunday

Weather here has cheered up a bit, the birds are about again. It was dreadful earlier on as MrsH said. Not cold though, Kizzy sat for a long while on the door mat by the open front door out of prevailing howling wind, wondering why she didn't fancy going out. Pip popped out and popped back in smartish!

Bottled our pickled onions - no way of knowing if they will be OK until we try them out. We have pork loin steaks with apple sauce and broccoli and carrots for supper tonight. Not quite as nice as a roast pork joint, but a great deal quicker and cheaper!

So sorry to hear that Dylan's been sick again RCR. Wise not to go near the rescue just in case.

Sorry to hear about your calf muscles Smudgley - not sure what I'd use on a strain, probably frozen peas. Hope your sneezes don't turn into anything else Janey. Have you got some echinacea handy?

Hope you all enjoy your Sunday, whatever you are doing.

Re: Rainy Sunday

Filthy weather here too. Just been to crazy kids (indoor play area) with the boys to get them out of the house whilst OH paints some more of the stairway - we're just back. Mind you it gave me time to read the Observer which I haven't managed to do for about 5 years . . . I thought it would be busy in there but actually it was quite quiet!!

Roast lamb for dinner tonight which I'm looking forward to

Spare a thought please for my elderly Aunt who fell over in her care home last night and is currently in Torbay Hospital awaiting an operation tomorrow as she has smashed her hip in the fall

Re: Rainy Sunday

Miserable weather here too, rain and only 9 degrees. So yucky I decided to skip the market run and rearrange dinner menu: will have cauliflower to go with the crab cake instead of fresh spinach. Still struggling with Photobucket trying to resize pics, no joy. Leia didn't want the porch after breakfast, went directly to the warm radiator cover to nap ...smart girl.

Yola, sorry to hear about your Aunt. Enjoy the wine, Jan, ouch! to Smudgley! Good news about the pup, Moli.

Hope the rain lets up and everyone enjoys the day.
