The most bizzarre phone conversationJust had it with the Pink Princess Erin  She rang me to ask why banana and nana dont sound the same. They do when i say them in my dialect but in Erins, she somehow has managed to get a r into banana  Then she proceeds to ask me to say beer can with sounding like a Jamacan asking for the bacon She's has worked in mental health way too long me thinks. I also heard her talk to the dogs in a welsh accent

try saying it guys........come on say "BEER CAN" without sounding like a jamacan saying "bacon" it cant be done,it cant. and Nana sound different to baNANA,ive got myself all worked up and confused!! |

Youre right Erin!!! Try as I might, beer can comes out sounding like biacaaan . . . And nana (narner) kind of gets close to banana (bun-ahn-a), but they are a bit different. I guess it really depends on how you pronounce the actual words! I'd be interested to hear how an Aberdonian pronouces beer can; can someone persuade Elaine to record her voice and youtube it???  |
