Better a day to early or a day to late?

Based on my feelings at the moment on animals and the end of their lives. What makes you realise the time is right, to let them move over to rainbow bridge?

I figure I will know - I would rather it a day to early than a day to late. I think its the best descision you can make as a good animal owner, is the last descision.

Re: Better a day to early or a day to late?

Well Karen, I cant say with my cats, but I can say that with Bonnie, our old black lab, we knew..

She always came out and greeted my mum, when she came home.. One day she didnt, and she just kept on sleeping, my mum had to go and wake her up. That was time.

Bonnie was 11 years old, almost blind and had the beginning of kidney failure (I think)

This was in 1997 and gosh I still miss that girl...

But I believe they will tell us when its time.. In their own way..

{{{{hugs}}}} for you Karen

Oddly enough while typing this people have said its eyes that tell you when its time.

And I turned to look at Oscar's eyes and found myself looking into eyes and listening to a voice telling me "stop typing woman and open the food."

you can see in thier eyes, in thier every day routine, life isnt a life anymore, it begins to be a chore, a tiresome chore of which our beloved pets gain nothing from any more, that is when we must let the head rule the heart, and take control of the situation
Hugs to you all who have had to make the hard decsion
Best wishes
