'Hullo world'..

Saw a lovely sight recently in the front garden, grabbed my camera quick..

..Aye, aye! What's this grabbing a bit of left overs!

Must get in focus before the wee chap disappears!

Instantly recognisable by having a definitive black splodge of colouring to his tail fur (I say 'his' out of all ignorance because he's quite a big built cub, could be a 'she,' difficult to tell).

Anyway, ..Splodge the fox cub. I feel very privileged to have had him visit my garden, cute little fella!

Re: 'Hullo world'..

1st outing I know of that Splodge has had in my garden angie! I regularly get a family of 4 adults who visit, which is lovely to see, seen mum and auntie take back mouthfuls of food so I knew there were little uns.

Re: 'Hullo world'..

Just to update all:
Splodge still visits regularly, but he acts as 'Uncle Splodge' to 4 young late litter cubs who also visit the garden with their ever watchful mum and dad. There are also 2 older teenagers prior to the cubs, of which I don't know who is the dad!
Anyway, here's 'Rustle', the father of the 4 cubs, I was only aware there were 4 small cubs at 4am one morning, now they visit nightly, with Splodge who is such a gentle uncle. (Photos of Rustle, Splodge is quite timid and only appears to grab food mostly and give it to the young). Rustle is only in his 2nd year, I think! I lose track.

Rustle and cub

What beautiful animals those foxes are.You are so lucky that they visit you regularly. Are they now protected or is fox hunting still legal?I do so hope that it is no longer allowed.

Re: 'Hullo world'..

Fox hunting is banned now but rather than have all the hounds put to sleep. (there are thousands), hunts use drags, (scented cloths). The hounds are trained to chase that. Same with all the beagle packs, trail hounds, mink hound packs, fell packs, etc. Just realised, to have thousands of hounds put to sleep would cost millions of pounds, bet Blair never thought of that, like he cared.
