Rspca

We're thinking of getting Ebony a new friend next week because Ebony's just not able to cope as an only cat, how easy is it to adopt from the RSPCA? Mum saw a cat there that she thinks would be perfect for Ebony (and I like the look of the cat as well), but we don't know how easy it will be to get her out of the RSPCA's care, should we try Cats Protection and the smaller charities before going to meet any cats from the RSPCA or should we go straight to RSPCA?

Re: Rspca

I have no experience of adopting from RSPCA. You can but ask, esp if you've seen a cat that you think would fit in well.

Re: Rspca

I think it depends on the branch as our local branch is quite good. They specifically state that they are virtually independent from the main body as I think they realise the RSPCA doesn't have a very good rep. I would think they will be very grateful to home a cat to such a good home. You can only try, if they refuse go somewhere else.

Re: Rspca

I'm amazed that the sspca let animals be adopted without a home check. Obviously that was fine for Barney but it's so irresponsible of them. I guess there comes a point where the number of animals in care outweighs the amount of time that officers or volunteers can spend on checking potential homes.

Re: Rspca

I haven't got much time for New Zealand's RSPCA after they rehomed a dog that I was boarding with them temporarily. Board was all paid up for a month but someone came, liked the look of the dog and they gave him to them without even telling me.Anyway, I do hope you have better luck with getting the cat Phoenix.
