Mags, I had an Acer and it was seriously underpowered and not at all reliable. I might have just been unlucky though. This was in the days when I just used the home PCs for surfing the web, listening to music and sending emails. With laptops it's all about getting the highest-specced one you can afford. We also bought a Compaq for a member of staff several years ago and it ended up being a bit of a rubbish machine; I suspect due to spec rather than build. I had a work DELL PC and I found it to be excellent. They will build it to your needs so you don't end up paying for things you don't really need. |

OH gave me a surprise pressie of this laptop for Christmas. He went with friend of his who is very computer savvy. this is a Toshiba ad to be honest it does more than I allow it to coz I'm a bit timid to experiment. I surf the web, email and Skype my sister in the States and thats about it. But this can download anything , youtubes, etc. movies if I want, but I don't. I have burned CDs on it, copied files etc. I dn't need to store a lot of music but it can do. I had it 2 years ago this Xmas, so its come down in price. It cost £500 then . It's a Toshiba Equium with Windows xp. It suits me, so there ya go |
