Kass, the latest addition.
Kass is a big, black and white, neutered male cat who has a rather grumpy face. He was rescued from being neglected by his previous owner as he was not being looked after. Sadly, the husband of the newest owners did not like cats so he was only allowed in the front porch, after he stopped using the litter tray in the porch an peeing outside it, they decided to have him PTS! They had him for 3 years.
Kass is 6, and quite a friendly lad. We were made aware and offered to take him as an outdoor cat ( they said he would not be happy indoors at all) until a home could be found ( they said if he did not go to a forever home he would be PTS as they did not want him passed from pillar to post!)
So with a days notice he moved into a dog crate as we had nowhere organised, but he came to stay.
On observation I discovered the litter tray, which had a cover was too small, and upon removal of the cover from the litter tray he used it perfectly.
He has been with us in a spare room for 2 weeks and was blood tested for FIV/ FeLV and was clear, he has shown no indication of wanting to get outside and as of tomorrow will be introduced to the rest of the 'colony'.
In the springtime, after he is microchipped and vaccinated, he can go out again but he will not be an 'outdoor' cat.
