Hi

I found your site whilst looking for info on heart murmurs in kittens and just wanted to say Hi and how helpful its been reading some of the posts. I have just adopted 3 kittens, they are 4 months old now and 2 of them have heart murmurs. They all seem fine so far (little terrors!) and hopefully I will have them all for a good many years to come.

Daisy is tortoiseshell/white, Jake is black/white and Alfie is ginger tabby...think we have covered most colours there!

Look forward to getting to know you and exchanging cat tips.

Re: Hi

Thanks for the welcome, Daisy, Jake and Alfie say Hi too. Jake and Daisy are the two with the heart problems, Alfie is just crazy! They seem to be coping ok, the vet picked it up when they went for their first health check and we dont know yet how bad the problem is yet. They are going to have a scan when they go to be neutered in a few weeks time. They will also be chipped at the same time, I didnt want them to have too many anaesthetics so they will get the full works in one go!

Does anyone else have any cats with this problem? I would welcome any advice.

Re: Hi

Hi and welcome to you, Daisy, Alfie and Jack We love seeing pictures of kittens, if you have some pics you can post we'd love you forever

Concerning the heart murmur, I'm afraid that I don't have any relevant experience of this condition, but it's excellent that your vet has picked it up so early and can monitor the situation accordingly. Hopefully someone with direct experience can help soon.

**edit to say, I've just searched the forums against murmur and found posts, both encouraging and worrying. Looks like it all depends on the intensity of the murmur itself.
