An idea???

Ok - taking the spay/neuter campaign one step further, how about this . . . collectively, between us all here we have a wide range of skills. Maybe working together with our website supermo, Az, we can develop a website that supports the spay/neuter theme, promotes the activity, acts as a knowledge resource for the topic, and a learning resource for charities, schools, vets etc.

Cats Protection main site has only a tiny reference to neutering, my local CP website (which my designer here recently redesigned) has NO reference to it . . . I will get that remedied In fact there does not seem to be any kind of voice (at least in the UK) which is collectively calling for this; however there are several in the U.S.

What do you think?

Not really, Fran.
1. Design the 'look' of the website.
2. Design a menu . . . work out what we want to say and how it will be broken down
3. Write the content
4. Promote it. That's the tricky bit (but the bit I know how to do ). We can use email to send the link and explanatory benefits to vets, schools, local/national rescue charities, local papers, national papers.
5. Link it. We can get lots of other websites - all of the above + subject specific boards such as Catsey and other pet sites to create links from their websites to ours. This will increase our visibility on the search engines and should raise our profile considerably!
6. Oh, and the most important thing, think of, and register a name for the site!

it would be good if you could have leaflets and posters that can be downloaded by people as well

OK, well for whoever wants to get involved we need lists of the following locally (email addresses + contact names preferably):

• Local Newspapers (journalists or editor)
• Magazines/publications that are distributed to schools (journalist/editor/publisher)
• Local CP branches (area co-ordinator)
• Local RSPCA branches (area co-ordinator)
• Independent rescues (secretary/co-ordinator)
• Schools (school secretary or head teacher)
• Vet practices (practice manager or principal vet)
• Scout/Guide groups (pack leader)
• Youth clubs (leader)
• Local authorities (councillors or MPs whom we can lobby - especially ones who have an interest in animal welfare)
