What wonderful fountains Erin and great pictures. A very pretty church too. Shame the big house is in ruins, isn't it? Glad you made the most of the day and had a good day out - the weather coming in doesn't look too good for the next few days. |

Thanks all. Angie I absolutely love the place but everytime I got I get upset about the state of the house, although English Heritage are restoring the gardens which look amazing and they have restored the fountains, its a shame the house is being left almost untouched,I know it would cost millions to restore it but its still such a shame. When the house caught fire only a quarter of the building was ruined, they rest is down to vandals and salvage contractors Such a shame, its such a gorgeous builing. This is what it would have looked like in 1880 - |

Yes, it looked amazing - I looked it up on the web. Didn't know that only some of the building was destroyed by fire - such a shame that the rest has been left to fall into ruin. I visited Osbourne House a couple of weeks ago, which is also English Heritage. Unfortunately my camera battery was flat, so I couldn't take any pictures. The grounds and gardens were beautiful, especially the walled garden. I found a rose that is on my "must have" list because it smelled wonderful. |

Super pictures Erin . . . and a wonderful old building. It's rather strange having such authentically-restored gardens surrounding a shell of a building. But I rather like the contrast. |

What an amazing place and set in such beautiful gardens too..... the fountain is lovely.. It's sad to see the house gutted like that but you can still visualize the grandeur of it. Glad you had a good day out there Erin... |
