It is fun Kate, people meet up most mornings at 10 am, it's been superb for socialising Malaika. Someone said today that one of the park rangers had mentioned trying to stop people meeting as the dogs have churned the ground up with running on it ?????? |

On the other hand, if we felt confident enough with the recall it was common place to take her for a walk with the lead in hand but not actually attached to her. I know of one park in Dunfermline where there is an official dog run bit. Think it's cause they like to keep the rest of it clear of 'fouling' and if they create a special area where dogs can 'go' they think it will help... Certainly we don't have the stringent leash laws of other places! |

we only let Malaika off in certain places and under certain circumstances. Her recall is very good for a Basenji, the problem is she sometimes forgets she has good recall if there is something more interesting. I never leave the house without a poo bag now and always pick up after her. I quite like the idea of designated dog areas in parks were they can be off lead. |
