Thank you, yes Angie, I am very pleased with it. I did kinda want some points to be elaborated on a tad more but hey, she got them all in which is the main thing. In the last year I know of 4 dogs who were taken from over seas only to be placed in rescue here, I know of 2 more who were bought from a shelter with foreign micro chips. An animal in need is an animal in need but I wish people would stop taking these animals because their plight tugs at their heart strings. |

I'm glad you commented on rescue dogs from abroad, I know of one very recently ending back in rescue. You know my feeling about this, and in fact I'm becoming more strongly against 'importing' generally after finding out about the amount of 'farmed' puppies with improper or no vaccines coming over here. It's only a matter of time before we have rabies and more nasty diseases introduced. When we are putting down one dog every 80 mins in Britain it bothers me that they are left to die while dogs are imported. |

When I became involved with Friends of Bianca, there was talk of taking some dogs over from Portugal and I am glad that myself a some others were really opposed to this and so it was decided that it wouldn't happen. What we do is help raise funds in order for them to be able to build proper shelters for the dogs and cats in Bianca's care, all of the money we raise goes directly into these projects. The volunteers over there try their best to campaigne and raise awareness of the cruelty bestowed upon these poor animals as do we, but we will not take any into the UK for rehoming. I also try to help out here with rescues too where and when I can. |

I think that's a good approach Elaine and I would prefer if more UK based charities acted in that way, but a lot don't for various reasons. I know Irish law has changed recently so there won't be so many coming from Eire. |
