Part of the catnip patch

Just starting to bloom. I wanted to get this in before DM leaves for holiday so we can compare the bloom with her catnep. I'll have tons of seed so if anyone wants some, just PM me. This is a very robust strain, it's almost waist high.

Your catnip has come on really well Eileen, the flower stem in the 2nd pic looks really strong...

That's the common daylily, Mags; had them for years; brought them from the house I grew up in when I moved. Included it in the shot because it gave an idea of the height of the catnip. Oddly enough, none of the neighborhood cats that are outdoor cats ever bother the catnip!

Yup - thats how mine has turned out. It's very vigorous and is actually in the wrong place in a large planter with other, better behaved, species!
I'll have to think what I can do with it/where I can replant it. In the interim, a good trim after it flowers (so the bees can get a meal) I think

The bees love it! It will self-seed like mad ....mine is trying to take over in front of the vegetable patch!

How are your catnip/nep/mint plants coming along DMs????

Mine, in a hanging basket in the greenhouse are now in flower. The plants are not very big but perhaps they have stunted because they are in a hanging basket. Should I plant them outside???????

I've never tried transplanting them, but can't see why they wouldn't do well if you do ... they are very tough hardy plants. Be warned, they will self-seed like mad so don't put them anywhere you think they'd be too obtrusive! Mine have fiinshed seeding and look rather ratty now, may grub them out as there are too many anyway.
