Taken together, the problem with his fur and loss of appetite I wonder if he has got something on himself that has caused the fur matting and then as he has licked at it he has taken something in that shouldn't be. It's natural to try and get whatever it might have been off your cat, but IMO it may have been better to take him to the vet with it still there so they could see and perhaps take a sample. I do hope it isn't anything like that. Fingers crossed the bloods are OK and the vet thinks of something else. It does seem that cats generally are shedding more in the heat. I am sorry, I can't suggest anything helpful lynz85. Do let us know how he gets on. |

It's at least reassuring to know that he's a house cat and that you are sure he couldn't have got anything nasty on his fur. One less thing to puzzle about. Hope all goes well for him. What's his name, btw? |

Welcome to the forum , can't realy offer any advice re Mondo's fur except to say maybe the problems are unrelated. One of our Cats who has short hair gets a bit clumpy at times, the problem is usualy sorted with a bit of extra grooming. Hope he doesn't need the blood test. |
