Miw on Holiday!

Whilst searching through the hundreds of picture disks for kitten pics of Miw, I came across these pics of Miw's first holiday with us in Derbyshire when she was a year old, so thought I'd share!

Out for a walk in Derbyshire!

Miw was fascinated with this bush/tree.....she's a real "girlie" cat, loves pink! LOL!

Taking a closer look.....

and then smelling the flowers......

At that point the entire bush began to BUZZ, think she disturbed a bees nest LOL! We made a hasty retreat!

And relaxing after the walk!

Miw does LOVE to go on holiday with us.....she's had many hill and countryside walks in Derbyshire on her trusty harness and leash! We missed the annual holiday this summer due to Mouse's illness.......but next summer we'll be back walking in Derbyshire and Mouse will have her first experience of a holiday!

Tina

That's so cool that Miw goes on holiday with you, she must be one chilled out kitty! I think my lot would freak with a car journey and a new environment. I'd also be scared they would scratch the furniture in the holiday homes or pee/poo where they shouldn't (I have enough trouble stopping the kids doing they never mind the cats)!!

Those are lovely pictures Tina - what a great thing to be able to take your cat on holiday with you! Miw must be a very chilled out cat. Another example of how useful getting a cat used to harness and lead can be.

Re: Miw on Holiday!

Miw is absolutely wonderful to take on holiday! She makes a fuss in the car for about 20 mins, and then realises we've been driving too long to be going to the vet.....so it must be holiday time LOL! It's about 5 hours to Derbyshire where we holiday, but luckily my in-laws about half way, so we always stop there for a night on the way to and from Derbyshire. Miw's been to Derbyshire 5 times now, and to the in-laws about 3 times a year......she loves it there too! She's never "gone" anywhere but her litter box on holiday and we bring my HUGE collection of throws to cover all the furniture when we go LOL but she's not a big scratcher.

Mouse hasn't been on holiday with s yet, she's been to the in-laws twice though.....and though a little noisier in the car for about 40 mins, she did eventually calm down.....I think it helped that she could see that Miw was okay with it! Both are leash and harness trained so it's great taking them out for walks and letting them explore with us!

Previous holidays with Miw have made us aware that; 1. She HATES horses......hisses and spits if one comes in sight. 2. She wants to chase the cows......and the BULLS, whenever we walk through a field of cows she's dragging hubby along on the leash to try to chase them LOL!. 3. She'll get right up to a sheep and sniff at it LOL!

Can't wait to see how Mouse does on holiday!

Yep, Miw's first "holiday" was to the in-laws when she was 5 months old.....and she loved it there! Even that first time, she was fine in the car after that first 20 minutes....just went to sleep and woke up when we got there......was better than my son LOL! And she's been harness trained since she was 14 weeks LOL!

Re: Miw on Holiday!

Thanks EB! You should try and train Tay(?) to a harness.....while he's young! You probably wouldn't be able to get one on Elvis at his age though LOL he'd probably not let you!
