New to Embroidery..

This is my newest project..trying to learn how to embroider. Thought it'd be fun to document my progress as I learn so I've been keeping record of what I've done so far. I'm doing all this on what I deemed the "practice pillowcase" for the ferrets room.
I'll warn you I'm not very good yet but I think it's fun to document my learning curve.

*head smack* i had the hoop on backwards but this was my first official stitching, it got much easier once i realized how to place the fabric in the hoop, i'm an airhead

"Love forever"

then the next..

next...(i know there's a mirror imaging of the pattern because i was darn clumsy with the iron, oh well decided to stitch it up anyway)

and the latest (progress..maybe?)

And now we are up to date on my official learning embroidery adventure

Re: New to Embroidery..

That's looking very good for your initial effort .... nice even stitches! It's soothing, isn't it? I switched from using silk thread to wool (crewel) quite a while back; unfortunately since I got the computer I spend too much time on here to do handiwork now .....

Amazing Tink! You must sew incredibly fast - it took me years to do one tray cloth. I did enjoy it, but not so much that I wanted to continue. I had (may still have) a handy little book with all the stitches. If I can find it, would you care to have it????

Lovely! I used to have to do this at school but had 2 laft hands when it came to producing anything close to attractive. You're really got a good feel for this detailed kind of work haven't you?

That looks lovely Tink. Keep up the good work. I love cross stitch but have never done embroidery.
