Mine still have 4 -5 feeds a day as well. They very rarely leave any of it as well. They have around a quarter of a pouch each per feed. You know when they are hungry as they bawl there eyes out. Mine dont have dry food though and i am trying to wean them of kitten milk as well. I find if you increase the ammount of food you give them they tend too sleep alot better. They also want food everytime we go in the kitchen or open the fridge or come in. jane |

thanks for the reply! i might try giving them a bit more but maybe 3 feeds a day when they get to about 6 months. they do eat alot and think they are getting fed everytime we go in the kitchen, that is why i put the dry food out so they can pick on it. S |

As I remember it with my 2 persians (who I had from 4 months old), I was feeding them twice a day with dry food available for free-feeding from the outset. Couldn't you start by giving them larger amounts and also changing the 0630 feed to about 0730 and just start moving the times and quantities around so they balance out to 3 feeds during the day? Sorry to be so vague, but it's 11 years ago now since they were kittens!! |
