A tip

Instead of planting bulbs in the garden how about planting them in plastic pots then when they are almost ready to flower plant the pots......yes ....plant the pots in your border where you have gaps. Then when they have finished dig to pots up you have no unslightly dying down foliage a devil in small gardens....and replace the pots with the next thing ie Daffs replaced with Tulips....what do you think? Good idea eh?

Re: A tip

Kazz, do you mean to put the bulbs in the pots and then keep them in a cool place until time to put out in the Spring, or to sink the pots with bulbs into the ground at Autumn planting time?

Alex, I personally can't stand flowering cabbage, but a lot of people put it in their tubs for Winter color.....if your weather isn't really severe you could do pansies also......

Re: A tip

Either would work I think Eileen, but I PLAN lant them keep them in the shedinplan to plant mine up in pots keep the pots in the shed till the early Spring then bring them out and hey presto I am Useless at recall where I plant bulbs and due to the small garden find myself irritated by the "dying down foliage" and keep diggin them up. But either would work I imagine very well.
