Giant Greek beans

After reading Yola and BC.s response on the daily thread, found these on the Amazon Gourmet Food site and have ordered some...sound delicious. Does $2.85 sound comparable to what you pay? The same mfgr. as on Yola's pic. Looking forward to trying them!

Re: Giant Greek beans

Enjoy DM, they are very yummy !! As for cost, I have no idea I buy them as part of a weekly shop and ashamed to admit, I don't even clock the price. Thought I can bet that it's probably extortionately priced here as our cost of living (food wise) is comparatively high to pretty well anywhere

Gigantes! Love 'em. One of the major features of any Greek holiday.
They're actually dead easy to make at home, but like ouzo and tzatsiki, may be best when enjoyed under their native sun.
Here's a link to a recipe - there are tons of them on-line if you do a search

I've just bought 2 tins from my local Waitrose. Our big Sainsbury's also do them . . . and the deli, so I think they're pretty well generally available.

Not quite as big a turnout as for the FURminator, but 3 converts now...well done, Yola!
