Re: Monday daily

Here we go I have been in the garden.....needs must I am afraid I need to come up with a plan to be as weed free as possible....which I have as had a phone call from admissions dept Gynae today, the lady who does the bookings is back and asked if I would take another consultant as mine on annual leave 17th April and booked for a while. I said I did not mind. She said in that case providing my consultant agree's I could be in done and dusted within 4 weeks........WOW....seems I am on the edge of urgent/emergency.

Have to have my liver scan tomorrow....may have info before then.

So been in the garden today an worked out a plan, weeded where needed put a couple of bags of slat chippings down. Been out and brought and now built up a computer desk for living room, and a chair for spare bedroom desk.

Forward planning is the key as the Gynae dept rang and asked if I had any quetsions or needed another appointment to go back over info given by consultant and if I did ring back, they confirmed I would be 12 weeks+ recovery due to size and position of the cut due the size of fibroids... the cut will be straight through abdominal wall...a vertical cut from belly button (or just above) down and maybe across horizontal cut. Joy of joys, but guess what walking is advised slowly and small walks daily....

NEWSFLASH
Update just phoned by admissions to say I am on the standby list in case anyone cancels...so could be in in a heartbeat. So I need to get some cheap nightshirts etc...and stock up on thngs....buy a couple of books and get a bag ready.

Re: Monday daily

Oh wow, Kazz, things are heating up! Hope you can get done soonest and start on the slow road to recovery. Take care of yourself and don't overdo, please.

Still dank and gloomy here, 50% chance of rain, Presently 6 C (43 F), with a chilly North wind; maybe sun at last tomorrow as the front slowly pulls away. No news, overslept for once as I had no errands; am behind in chores as I came on here first to see what was happening.

Hope all are well and having a good day!

Re: Monday daily

I think we need to ask Mags for a "fingers crossed" smilie. I should have realised your sense of urgency was practical. You will need to put in place some heavy duty support for when you come out Kazz - there can't be any running about shopping or cleaning and only taking Sal out for very short walks I expect. I think that's going to be the hardest part for you.

I am feeling "off", not bad but a bit icky and bit of a headache and backache and dizzy. No idea if it's anything to do with the Mirena. But I really mustn't complain, because I haven't got anything particularly horrid in my insides. I looked, btw!

Anyway, MIL sitting, and cat tickling today - OH has played golf early this week because of heavy booking of the course tomorrow. It started nice and sunny, clouded over and is now sunny again. It's nearly tea time and I shall have some paracetamol I think.

Re: Monday daily

Karen, I sometimes think that it's better to have little notice of things like operations; less time to stress!

Here it's another dull Monday, workwise. It's been warm but the sun has disappeared and the wind has picked up - so I'll be closing the office door shortly.

More staff changes; it's such a pain (and so expensive) when having to recruit someone new; our maternity cover has proved completely unreliable and now she can't cope with the workload and 'has decided to stop working'. Wimp!

On another note, I had a really, really good night's sleep last night. The central heating coming on woke me at about 6 and I couldn't believe I'd slept right through the night without cats, outside noise or children disturbing me!

** Edit to say, Karen can you ask your Dave if he would be so kind as to keep us updated on your progress once you go in for your op? You know how much we worry about you!!

Re: Monday daily

Dylan's been wailing "pleeease feeeed meeeeee" most of the afternoon even though he's been fed three times this afternoon already

He's spent a bit of time sleeping in the garage today as well.

Angie, sorry to read you're not feeling well, hope you start to feel better soon.
