Ah - I remember 1976 well it was a very, very long hot summer made all the more memorable by the fact that I was seriously excited by the prospect of going to secondary school the following September. The holiday really did seem to go on for ever!! It's a really sweet picture that is, thanks for sharing it - and it makes your daughter what? 30? Cripes doesn't time fly |

Well, she will be 30 in December if she lives that long - I have threatened to take out a contract on her, on the grounds that it's no good me knocking years off myself while she keeps going up and up!!!! That was a fab (!) hot summer - Katie spent most of it wearing only a sunhat and factor 50 (plus a nappy and frilly nicks if we were going out!) |

I remember that scorching summer too....it just went on and on and on. At long last, on a September day, we had a torrential thunderstorm...the first rain for endless months. Everyone went out in their gardens to stand in it, just to get some relief from the sweltering heat.....Those were the days! |
