Redbud tree


My next door neighbor's little redbud tree. It was planted in the Autumn of '06 and wasn't very spectacular last year, but is looking good now! Thought you might like to see it...

That looks lovely Eileen is it to be added to your list of things for your garden..........tree's take a while to get going. Looks like that will give your neighbourhood pleasure for years to come.

No, I like redbuds, actually I was the one that suggested that Christopher get one when he was re-doing the front yard, but will enjoy his. I'm not at the point of adding a tree yet, but am sort of leaning toward a laburnum when I;m ready.....

For a few delightful days, BC! It made 26 degrees yesterday, is 23 now before lunch...all blue skies, light winds and flowers galore! BUT: a cold front is on the way, Sunday will be 10 degrees cooler with an all day rain...oh joy ...

Thanks, Angie! It can get fairly large when mature, and has lovely heart-shaped leaves. The flowers come directly out of the bark, very unusual. There is a white variety also; not as striking as the magenta one IMO.
