Well Red is home with me now safe and sound and has been for the last 26 hours!!
I was collecting him from Hartlepool, which is quite a way from me, so I decided to go up half way on Friday night and stay in a Travelodge, then I was refreshed for the rest of the journey on Saturday morning.
I got to the breeders about 10am, met all their cats, had a coffee and then met Red. He was just as gorgeous as all the photos they had sent me
He's fairly extreme in his Siamese-ness...............so fingers crossed he'll be good for showing. He has fantastic deep blue eyes.
It took us about 3 hours to get home and it was really hot, which wasn't good
Red slept for a lot of the journey and cried for the rest
As soon as we got back I put him in my bedroom and we had a cuddle and a play and then both had a nap
He stayed in my room with me all evening and then at bed time I moved him into the spare room, so that the girls could come and sleep on my bed as they always do. He was very good in the spare room and only cried a little before settling for the night.
Today I have introduced him to the others out in the garden and at a distance. Lily, Kuta and Bernard aren't at all bothered by his presence. They didn't even move. Abi seems to have taken a dislike to him though
which I'm really surprised about. I actually thought that she would be the one to welcome him the most
as she has always been great with newcomers (Bernard, Midas and Lily's babies). The only thing I can think is that it's because he's a little boy and hasn't been neutered yet
She has actually hissed at him and I've never heard her hiss at anyone or anything before
He hissed back too, which isn't a good start.
He's been out round the house and in the garden for a while today and he's now back in my bedroom. I want to take it slowly with the introductions.
So, here he is anyway.............
