Brain Training

Somebody at my Italian classes was handing out adverts for this site from The Guardian - I've just had a quick look at the website and (if you're prepared to pay!) it looks as if it could be useful!

Re: Brain Training

My OH was telling me the other day that he'd heard somewhere (was it on TV?) that these brain-training exercises don't actually do much for improving/preserving brain function. It's best apparently to do activities such as chess/bridge/crosswords/sudoku. Don't know why the iformation seemed interesting to him, he can't do any of those things very well!

Re: Brain Training

Lol @ hubby! I think I'll give Angie's link a try; why not for a free week? I have done crosswords forever; have not played chess since my Dad died (not too good at it), and look at sudoku with unmitigated horror!!!!

Re: Brain Training

I quite like sudoku - can do the easy and medium ones, but they take me an age. My OH does the hard ones too and keeps at it. My trouble is I do tend to give up too easily! I like general knowledge type crosswords, but am hopeless at the cryptic type clues.

Re: Brain Training

Oh same here about the cryptic ones! Our New York Times Sunday one is general knowledge but with really sneaky clues and themes...love it! I didn't finish it until last evening.....
