Picotee has flowered at last!

Isn't is lovely?

But - for all you amaryllis folks - is it usually so short stemmed?

And - a new flower stalk ready in a week or so I reckon.

That's a stunning amaryllis CM, almost like a satin white with the most delicate tinge of pink on the outer edge.

I must admit it does look an unusually short stem ........the other bud on there looks as if it will be taller though...

It was this type that got me hooked when DM posted a pic of it. I could happily have loads of these.

Just think - 8 weeks ago I'd thought they were problem plants that were not worth trying.

Oh - don't remind me - I'm hoping once she goes out more regularly she'll be a little less destructive. Hopefully use up her energy a bit more. The little dear

For sure.

What is best way to deal with them after they've flowered? I've got the other two still in the pots, have folded over the leaves. Just not sure whether to keep damp or let dry out or what? Any hints?

TBH this is the first year I've grown them too........... I think we both need some guidance from Eileen and Moli about this...
