"Sadly, this incident highlights why it is crucial to neuter cats, not only to curb the spiraling cat population but also to stop the spread of FIV - the cat equivalent of AIDS," they put it down cause it had FIV! rspca are really starting to bug me The cat is assumed to have been a stray as it was not microchipped oh that makes it better then NOT! :X |

Yeah - I have some issues with the RSPCA and their euthanasia policies. Hence my involvement with Cats Protection - they will never destroy a healthy animal and try to rehome FIV cases in single-cat households. |

I have heard lots of iffy things about the RSPCA, and I know it isn't all branches. We are supposed to be getting an RSPCA shelter soon, and I can't say I am all that thrilled, I just hope we have decent people that staff it. Some cat charities (Cat ACtion Trust in particular) are no longer testing every cat and asking why test at all - Cat ACtion Trust state that they don't use hard earned funds on it, nor would they pts or restrict a cat that did test positive - I do have the full article if anyone would like to read it. |
