Hi All, I'm new. I have a 15 year old adorable tortoiseshell kitty named Minou who has had IBS for years. I love this kitty dearly but I must say, this disease is a huge challenge for someone with an indoor kitty. I have done everything I know how to do to try to solve this with vet visits, all kinds of meds and changes to a raw food diet and odd protein wet food diets. I spent a fortune, but I could never get Minou to eat all this stuff. I recently tried Diar-Eze and found it to be a waste of money as my kitty would not eat food mixed with it. Then by chance, I finally found something that does work. Slippery Elm! I mix it in with the wet food she does eat and she eats it up as if nothing is mixed into the food. All it takes is one capsule of powder mixed in. She now poops normally in her litter box with no diarrhea or visible blood. The painful howling has ceased and she seem to feel much better. I can't believe vets do not recommend slippery elm. It is cheap and most of all effective with no side effects and no possibility of harming a kitty with an overdose. If you have a kitty with this awful disease please give this a try. You have everything to gain! |
