My sister, it would seem, has the same run of misfortunes that I have.
Earlier this week she was walking a few dogs at the beach, not far from the mouth of the river don in Aberdeen. She had a beagle on extendable lead, a parsons russell and a basset hound, who were playing in the shallows.
While she was keeping an eye on the two dogs who were off lead, she heard someone shouting, turned and saw one of our clients waving and shouting to her.
Then........
Wooosh......
All of a sudden a huge wave washed right over her and the dogs. Obviously quite a frightening experience and she pannicked incase one or all of the dogs had been washed out to sea. Fortunately they hadnt and like the trooper she is, she carried on with her walk and talked and laughed with the client who was trying to warn her before heading home to get the sand out of her knickers and some dry clothes.
We were talking and laughing about it today.
My nephew was on a boat just off the Aberdeen coast and she was saying that if the dogs had been washed out, she could have called him and asked him to pick them up. I said it was more likely that he had caused the wave, he'd probably seen her and he and his work mates probably all counted to 3 then jumped up and down on the boat.
