Vera's final performance.Liz Dawn makes her final appearance in Coronation Street this evening after playing the part of Vera Duckworth for over 30 years. She and her screen husband Jack have brought a lot of humour to the 'Street' over the years and I'm sure she will be sadly missed by many. To have Jack there without his Vera will be strange as they made a brilliant double act together. Liz is retiring because she suffers from chronic lung disease. The 'Street' won't be the same without her...  Good wishes to Liz for the future...

Certainly is very sad. It's the end of an era, just like it was when Stan and Hilda went Yes, best wishes to Liz for her future |

I watched in and sat here in tears...honestly. I think it was done well, Jack putting her slipper back on and brushing her hair was just about the right touch. Just spoken to myMom who is heartbroken she has always watched Corrie, my Nan did too its the end of an era my Mom says, and very well done like when Stan died and Hilda held his glasses. Karen |

I agree Kazz, there were some lovely touches there that made it so personal, you could almost believe they were a real man and wife...... and as you mentioned, Jack brushing Vera's hair and making sure her slipper was back on properly ........ so sweet! |
