Christmas trees - more expensive this year?

Going to get our tree tomorrow - but it seems that I may come back without one, as from looking around on't'internet it appears that they may be much more expensive this year.

Has anyone else found this so?

Looks like the prices for tree are rising by as much as 20% this year Angie.

I did hear on the radio last week that some of the trees were being priced at £20 per foot!

What a shame! I think the tree is the nicest part of Christmas - may come back with a twig!

We paid £30 for our tree, it is a Norwegian Spuice, which we need with so many paws around as they are supposed to be low drop. However, I did think that was very expensive for a few weeks!

Re: Christmas trees - more expensive this year?

That's why I love my artificial tree, doesn't cost me a fortune each year lol. However I do have a real one as well, a 2ft potted one that I bought at the school Christmas fair last week, a real bargain at £3!!! Will be planted outside to grow nice and big for years to come. Does anyone know when I should plant it outside? Can I do it straight after Christmas or wait a few months?

I did get my tree yesterday - a lovely 6 footer from the Forestry Commission for £30 which I consider a good price. Oh and bought some venison sausages too - not to decorate the tree with though ..... !

She already has a name - Poppy. I love this name, so won't be changing it.
