Dylan's been sick again

Dinner time today Dylan decided to eat some plants (NOT lilies luckily) but so far he's been sick twice, once inside and once (at least) outside.

One of the plants is a purpley colour one - tiny purple flowers (couldn't tell if it was the flowers that Dylan ate or the leaves) and the other one's white - big flowers (have next to no knowledge about plants)

Dylan doesn't seem to be ill apart from the vomiting and walking around hanging his head like he wants to be sick , do you think he'll be OK? He's wowwing a lot as well (like his nickname suggests - Sir Wowwalot) nothing else abnormal so at the moment we're just watching him.

Are purple flowers and white flowers poisonous? (don't know what the plants are called)

Re: Dylan's been sick again

Would really need to know what the plants are to no if they are toxic or not for cats. Many common plants both indoor and outdoor are toxic so it is very possible. This is the reason I don't have any plants in the house. Better safe than sorry especially with the predisposition to eat plants that cats seem have!!

Try looking on a plant suppliers website at pics of plants to try and find out the plants names. Or maybe if you post some pics on here someone may recognise them.

The white flower looks like a chrysanthemum, can't quite see the blue ones, isn't that a label RCR???

Re: Dylan's been sick again

He's eaten a little bit just now and has so far kept it down ...

He's sat behind me purring at the moment.

I check all plants I buy for warning labels about cats as a matter of course.

Angie that is a label but can't read what the plant is on it

He's carefully washing his rear now.

Chrysanthemums. The leaves and stem are the toxic part to cats = these clinical symptoms: "Ingestion results in vomiting, diarrhea, depression, drooling and lack of appetite

Do you have access to an emergency vet service? I'd be inclined to phone and ask for advice. If you have to take him down, take the plants with you.

Don't want to panic you - it depends how much he's eaten and whether he's vomited it all up.

Is the small blue one a Campanula? If it is they are not poisonous.

He completely emptied his stomach angie both on the carpet and outside)

There's no emergency vet service here (too small a vet practice)
